Michael Jackson: The Experience 3D , a rhythm game similar to the home console version, was released on 2011-11-08 for the Nintendo 3DS. In this version, the player must keep in step by performing gestures on the touch screen as they appear in the corners of the top screen. There are 15 songs included, playable on three difficulty settings, and some songs have challenges attached to them, such as scoring above a certain milestone, to unlock new outfits, effects and features.
The gameplay involves using the touchscreen to mimic the dance moves of Michael Jackson's music videos. Players must press buttons in time with the music, and gestures appear on screen that they must replicate. As the player progresses through the game, they can unlock new songs, characters, and outfits for their virtual self.
