Generator Rex: Agent of Providence , based on the kids' show on Cartoon Network, is a beat-em-up action game where players control Rex as he continues to combat the E.V.O.'s and nanite problems plaguing the Earth. The story revolves around Rex attempting to stop villain Van Kleiss from threatening the Earth.

The gameplay follows Rex's journey as he collects blueprints and evidence against Van Kleiss, while also working to regain lost powers and absorb infected nanites. Many of Rex's powers, such as Smackhands and Slam Cannon, must be re-earned throughout the game. The game typically plays as a beat-em-up, but features brief breaks with driving stages and other action sequences.

Players can replay completed stages in the Providence headquarters in time trial challenges, adding an extra layer of replay value to the game. With its unique blend of action and adventure, Generator Rex: Agent of Providence is a fun and challenging experience for fans of beat-em-ups on the Playstation 3.
