Attack of the Timelord

The gameplay revolves around controlling the Time Machine horizontally with the directional stick and shooting its laser with the action button. The Timelord's Time Ships have four types of weapons: missiles, antimatter mines, annihilators, and Nucleonic Time killers. Each level introduces a new type of enemy that becomes increasingly difficult to defeat.

The game features 256 stages of progressively increasing difficulty, with faster and better armed enemies. The player earns points for each missile destroyed, antimatter mine exploded, Time Ship destroyed, annihilator destroyed, and Nucleonic Time killer destroyed. Each level can be completed by destroying all the enemy ships, and the player's goal is to survive as many levels as possible.

Interestingly, the Timelord appears at the start of each level, but his transmission can be jammed by pressing 0 (zero) at the beginning of the game. This allows the player to avoid the Timelord's reappearance after defeating a fleet of Time Ships.
