The Flintstones: Burgertime in Bedrock is modeled after Data East's classic Arcade title 'Burger Time'. In this version, Fred Flintstone or Barney Rubble get a new job in the new fast food joint started by Mr. Slate. Within the restaurant, the Player (as Fred or Barney) has to assemble giant burgers by walking over the parts (bun, salad and so on) and causing them to drop onto a plate lower in the level. While doing so, Fred/Barney have to fend off a multitude of pests and avoid being attacked by enemies.
The gameplay is fast-paced and action-packed, with the added twist of special powers that can be unlocked using certain extras. These power-ups grant temporary advantages such as increased speed or invincibility, making it easier to navigate the levels and defeat the enemies.
The Flintstones: Burgertime in Bedrock offers a fun and challenging experience for up to two players, with multiplayer competition mode available over link cable. The game also features colorful cartoon cut scenes and password saving, adding to its replay value.
The game consists of 25 levels, some of which scroll horizontally, providing a sense of progression and accomplishment as the player completes each level.

How to Play
Fred's New Job
Mr. Slate has a new job for Fred: running a Brontoburger restaurant. Fred needs to assemble brontoburgers by walking over ingredients.
Ingredients will fall to the level below when walked over. Once all ingredients are piled on the lowest level, they are served, and Fred moves to the next round.
Challenges
The smell of burgers attracts pests that will interfere with cooking. Avoid them, as they will slow Fred down. Slowing down too much will result in losing the job.
Fred will be given clubs to protect himself. Dropping ingredients on pests' heads can also slow them down. Hidden items in the kitchen may also help.
How To Play
As Fred or Barney, use the Control Pad to move around the kitchen. Assemble a complete burger by walking over each ingredient until all are stacked at the bottom level. Ensure you walk over the entire length of each ingredient for it to drop.
Pesky primeval pests will chase you. Avoid or attack them. Each time they tag you, you lose a life. Losing all lives ends your burger-building days.
Finishing all burgers in a level advances you to the next. Complete all 24 levels to become the ultimate Brontoburger builder.
Look out for special items (see Pick-Ups) that can assist in your cooking quest.
Starting The Game
•
Make sure your Game Boy® Color power switch is turned off.
•
Insert the "Flintstones: Burgertime in Bedrock" Game Pak into your Game Boy® Color.
•
Turn the power switch ON and wait until the title screen appears.
Main Menu
On the Main Menu you can:
•
Start a one player game (1P GAME)
•
Start a two player game (VS GAME)
•
Enter a password to start the game in a higher level (PASSWORD)
•
View the current high scores (HIGHSCORE)
•
Configure the game (OPTIONS)
Use the directional buttons on the control pad to choose the desired option. Press the A or B Button to select it.
1P GAME
Fred must prepare Brontoburgers by assembling ingredients. Help him stack the burger layers by walking over them. Fred earns points for every piece of burger.
A Brontoburger is finished when Fred puts together all necessary layers.
VS GAME
You can play the game with two players. Connect two Game Boy® Colors using a Game Link cable. Each Game Boy® Color must have its own Flintstones Burgertime Game Pak.
After turning on both Game Boy® Colors, choose "VS GAME" from the Main Menu. Before starting, set the number of levels needed to win and the number of clubs each player gets. The player who first finishes all Brontoburgers in one level wins.
Prehistoric Pests
Serving fast food in the Stone Age means being chased by an endless array of primeval pests. If they interfere too many times, Fred and Barney will lose their jobs.
You have two ways to fight these creatures.
Using Clubs
Whack pests unconscious with a club. Be within striking range and facing the pest, then press the A or B Button to swing. Each direct hit adds 100 points to your score.
Stone Age clubs break after one use and are limited. It is often wiser to outmaneuver an enemy than to waste a precious club.
Dropping Ingredients
You can also chase away pests for a short period by dropping burger items on their heads. Wait until a pest is under a burger item, then run across the item to drop it to the level below. Correct timing can knock out one or more pests.
Tips & Maps
PASSWORD
Each time you finish a complete area, you get a password. You can enter them in the password menu to start a game at a higher stage.
HIGHSCORE
Here you can view the top scores. The best five players for that session can enter their names here.
OPTIONS
Toggle background music on or off, sound effects on or off, choose to play as Fred Flintstone or Barney Rubble, and toggle between Easy and Hard difficulty levels.

Use clubs wisely
Don't just go swinging away every time you get in trouble. Only use a club when there is no other way to escape a pest.
Pay attention to pests
Always keep track of where the pests are and what direction they're going.
Use brief pauses
Sometimes a brief pause will make pests move into awkward areas and give you a chance to run to a safer location or set up pests so you can bash them with a falling burger.

All enemies turn into bugs and you get 800 points.
