Street Supremacy , a handheld take on the Tokyo Xtreme Racer universe, offers racing on 15 different courses through the streets of Tokyo along with 25 authentic high-end model cars that can be fully customized. Players can tweak anything from the engine to the muffler.

The main mode of the game is called "Team Rumble", where players join a clique and must participate in series of events. Winning these events earns the player's team territory, allowing them control over that area. Players can also recruit rival racers by depleting their Spirit Points, causing them to join the player's clique.

Players race against rival teams and their own in "ranking battles", where a five-car race determines the rankings of the clique. Climbing through the rankings allows players to eventually become team leader if they beat the current leader.

In addition to Team Rumble, there is also a "Time-Attack" mode where players complete races within allotted times. Players can also battle online using Ad-Hoc capabilities.
