40 Winks , released for the PlayStation in 1999, is an action-platformer where you control Ruff or Tumble as they battle ghosts, goblins, and other creatures in their dream-world. Their goal is to collect 40 winks scattered across the globe to stop Nitekap's evil plan. Nitekap aims to turn the winks into hood-winks, responsible for nightmares. The game also requires finding the 12 dream keys to unlock the final boss level.
The gameplay features a unique twist: players can temporarily transform into different costumes with special abilities. These include Prehistoric Man, Jester, Super Hero, and Ninja. This transformation allows players to access new areas and overcome obstacles in creative ways.
