Doctor Who: The Eternity Clock is a side-scrolling platform game with puzzle elements, based on the UK Doctor Who TV series. The game is produced in close collaboration with the BBC, featuring voice-overs by Matt Smith (The Doctor) and Alex Kingston (River Song). In this game, TARDIS is out of control and crashing down to Earth, leaving The Doctor unaware of the crash.
The gameplay switches between The Doctor and River Song, each having their own tools. The Doctor uses his Sonic Screwdriver to solve environment-based puzzles, such as opening doors with a short mini-game. River Song uses her Sonic Blaster to take down enemies and has a hallucinogenic lipstick. Players will encounter various villains like Daleks, Cybermen, Silurians, and the Silence.
The game takes place in London, spanning three time periods: 16th century, present-day, and a Dalek-occupied London in the future. Between levels, players can interact with the TARDIS. The game features different difficulty levels, affecting puzzle completion times, as well as a cooperative local multiplayer mode.
Doctor Who: The Eternity Clock was released on May 23, 2012, for the Playstation 3 console and falls under the action & adventure genre.
