The Last Tinker: City of Colors is set in a world made of cardboard, color, and glue called Tinkerworld. Long ago, its inhabitants worked together to create the world, but nowadays, the main town, Colortown, is divided into three districts: Red, Green, and Blue. The dwellers rarely interact with each other, and it's up to you to change this. You play as Koru, a young protagonist whose actions have led to the "bleakness" invading the world. However, Koru has the unique ability to harness the power of colors, making them the only one who can defeat the bleakness.
The Last Tinker: City of Colors is an Action Adventure game with a focus on exploration and platforming. While jumping is a crucial part of the gameplay, it requires minimal precision. Simply move in the right direction and hold down the jump button, and Koru will leap over obstacles automatically. The game also features fighting, mostly melee-based, as well as some shooting elements. Environmental puzzles need to be solved as you progress through the story. As you acquire new abilities related to the colors of spirits you help, you can upgrade them in shops using crystal, which are earned by defeating enemies or breaking crates.
