Hydro Thunder , a port of Midway's arcade boat-racer, takes you on a thrilling ride through 13 unique water courses set across various destinations such as Antarctica and the Greek isles. With no compelling storyline to speak of, the game boils down to revving up your engines and speeding through the tracks on futuristic boats.
Gameplay revolves around using the standard arcade checkpoint system, with an array of power-ups and upgrades scattered throughout the courses, including nitro boosters. The graphics are impressive, featuring entirely 3D visuals with realistic water effects and boat movements. On the PlayStation version, multiplayer competitions are available for two players.
