PowerMonger , set in a war-torn world, puts players in the shoes of a dispossessed warlord seeking to conquer and control 195 territories. The goal is not unique, as several other leaders share the same ambition. This change in setting gives the game a fresh twist on its predecessor, Populous.
The game's gameworld has undergone a transformation, with polygons forming the basis of the environment. This allows for greater freedom in rotating and moving the view. A range of strategies are at the player's disposal, including trade, diplomacy, inventions, and scorched earth invasions. Two-player games via modem links are available on computer versions.
