BlowOut is a game that takes a classic gameplay concept and updates it with modern graphics and sounds. This game is a side-scrolling platform shooter. The graphics are 3-dimensional polygons, but the action stays almost entirely in a 2-dimensional plane.

The setting for the BlowOut is a space station that has been overrun by hostile aliens. You play as a bad-ass soldier dude who will single-handedly wipe the aliens out. Your mission is to rescue your crew and escape the station before it's too late.

You travel around each level in a non-linear fashion. You have to fight your way through endless hordes to find keys, flip switches, use elevators, and then ultimately defeat a big boss at the end. With fast-paced action and intense firefights, BlowOut is an adrenaline-fueled ride that will keep you on the edge of your seat.

BlowOut was released in 2004 for the Xbox console, bringing its unique blend of old-school gameplay and modern graphics to a new generation of gamers.
