Rugby 15 is a rugby game with licenses for the clubs in the Top 14, Pro D2, Aviva Premiership and Pro12 competitions. Each team has its own in-game stadium. The official statistics for the 2014-2015 season as well as the real players and jerseys are present.
The game offers individual matches or in any of the licensed competitions, with support for custom ones and specific rules. Up to four players can participate in a local match, but there is no online multiplayer option. There is no career mode or team and player customization options. Players learn the game's rules through static information screens and in-game tips as there is no tutorial.
Players can control individual players during matches and there are multiple difficulty options. In-game commentary is provided by Stuart Barnes and Miles Harrison.
The game takes an arcade approach to rugby, allowing players to perform moves such as sidesteps, hand-offs, pop passes, shoulder charges, grubber kicks, drop goals and tackles. More complex moves like cross passes, up-and-unders and behind-the-back passes are also supported. Teams can be managed during or before and after matches with various statistics available.
Rugby 15 was released on the Xbox One in February 2015.
