On a distant planet, Slime Rancher follows the story of Beatrix LeBeau, a young rancher starting her journey to raise slimes. As she settles into her new life, she must capture and care for these unique creatures, build environments tailored to their needs, grow crops to feed them, and collect valuable plorts – the byproduct of slime digestion.
The gameplay revolves around exploration, farming, and combat. Players explore a vast world, discovering new locations as they progress through the game.
