Barbie as the Island Princess is based on a direct-to-video computer animated film where Rosella, a toy doll, is shipwrecked on a tropical island. She's raised by an elephant, peacock, and red panda. One day, Prince Antonio finds her, and she discovers she's actually the princess Barbie.
The game allows players to control Barbie, Antonio, or five other characters from the film. It features twenty-eight mini games to compete in, along with footage from the movie.
