Disgaea 1 Complete is a role-playing game set in a dark fantasy world. The story follows Disgaea 1 Complete , a prince who died without an heir and returns to his father's kingdom, only to find that he has been cursed by the god of death, Laharl. With the help of his servant, Etna, and their friend, Primm, they must navigate the complexities of heaven and hell to retrieve the power needed to break the curse.

The gameplay in Disgaea 1 Complete is turn-based strategy, where players control a group of characters with unique abilities as they battle enemies and complete quests. The game features a grid-based battle system, allowing for precise positioning and tactical movement. Additionally, the game's Overdrive feature allows characters to enter a state of hyper-aggression, greatly increasing their damage output.
