Devilish is a Breakout variant where the game screen scrolls forward once the ball passes through a barrier. The objective is to rescue the hero's love, who is being held hostage by Gamma, by defeating his forces. In this game, players control a paddle and have to hit power orbs at barriers to break through them.

The gameplay involves eight stages that must be completed before time expires. Stages also contain treasure chests with rewards such as time bonuses, 1-Ups, Buster Balls, or Flash Bombs that can destroy blocks. Players can choose from different paddle formations and select their difficulty level and power orb count at the start.

Players can experience two game modes: regular gameplay and time trial mode, which only includes the first six stages. The game offers options for selecting an easy, normal, or hard difficulty and customizing the number of power orbs available at the beginning.
