Fire Emblem: Thracia 776 is a midquel or "meanwhile" setting in the Fire Emblem series, taking place during Fire Emblem: Seisen no Keifu. The game features many of the same characters from that game, as well as cameos of many more.

The story follows Prince Leaf of Lenster's struggle to free his native land from two forces: the Grandbell Empire and the Loptus religion. At its core, the tale is one of resistance and perseverance in the face of overwhelming odds.

Gameplay-wise, Fire Emblem: Thracia 776 introduces several innovative features, including the use of fog of war and night maps with limited vision. Characters must rely on torches and wands to light their way, adding a new layer of strategy to battles. The capture command also makes an appearance, allowing enemies to be subdued and their weapons taken.
