Rig Racer 2 is an arcade-style truck racing game where you choose from eight trucks to race around four traditional racing track circuits. The game has three difficulty settings for single race, time trial, and challenge modes, as well as a two-player split-screen racing mode.

The player initially has access to four rigs in the PC and PlayStation 2 versions of the game, but only two in the Wii version. Additional rigs and tracks can be unlocked using in-game currency earned by completing races. Players also have options for time of day, mirror mode, and choosing between 3, 5, or 10 laps.

Rig Racer 2 is not a sequel to an existing game.
