The Sims 2: Pets is a simulation game where you take control of a Sim and their pet in the town of Baskerville. The gameplay follows the usual Sims formula, with daily needs for both your character and their animal to be met. These include sleeping, eating, staying clean, using the toilet, relaxing, watching TV, interacting with people, and spending time at home.
The pet can learn tricks and participate in competitions. However, this version introduces a new way to earn money: by having your Sim work in domains related to pets, such as being a pet walker, pet trainer, or veterinarian.
