Rainbow Six: Vegas is an action-packed tactical shooter that follows Logan Keller and his Rainbow Six squad as they take on terrorists trying to control Las Vegas. The storyline connects all the missions, with goals like rescuing hostages or disarming bombs. Players can choose from various weapons and gadgets, such as pistols, assault rifles, and C4, while ordering their teammates through a circular menu.
The gameplay focuses on strategy, with players aiming at targets to give orders to their teammates, who will then take cover to minimize risk. A health system is replaced by a vision blurring effect when hit, with recovery possible after taking cover for a time period. The improved AI makes enemies harder to kill, and the game introduces picking up weapons from dead enemies.
The story advances through gameplay scenes, rather than cutscenes, adding a new layer of immersion. Multiplayer modes allow up to 15 players to compete in games like Assault & Defend or Deathmatch, while also playing with friends or hunting terrorists on random maps.
