Wonder Classic is a golfing game where you'll use different characters with special abilities to your advantage. For example, Reiko Nagase can counteract the effects of wind, while others have benefits for certain types of shots. There are two starting characters and twenty-two unlockable and downloadable characters.
The game features several modes, including:
Training: play whatever field you like as long as you like.
Character Get: challenge your way through ten golfers to earn the right to play as them elsewhere in the game.
Stroke: play against the score.
Match: play by hole, with the goal of being the first to win. If a golfer is "UP" after all holes have been played, they win.
Mini Battle: Driving Contest: a match contest where only driving is involved.
Mini Battle: Near-Pin: a match contest that involves shots near the pin.
Mini Course: play on a 3-par 9 hole course, with the option to play against a computer if desired.
Tour: compete against 32 contestants in a tournament. To win, hone your Wonder Classic golfing skills and unlock new courses.
Net Tour: download top tour scores from the WonderGate and compete against them in a virtual tour. You can also upload your own scores to compare with others online.
The gameplay of Wonder Classic allows for precise control using the Y-buttons, adjusting the trajectory of your shot. You'll also have six "Power Shots" that must be carefully conserved in each match.
Using the WonderGate, you can acquire new clubs and stat-altering equipment, such as gloves. You can also download new characters and courses, and track your score as part of a global ranking.
