Great Basketball , released on the Sega Master System in December 1987, is an 8-bit simulation of international basketball competition.
Players choose from eight countries and compete in intense hoops action, featuring 5-on-5 play, defensive and offensive fouls, free throws, and three-point shots. The game also includes RPG-style attributes that can be allocated bonus points to improve a player's skills.
The gameplay is divided into single player mode, where players compete in a double-elimination tournament, and two-player mode, where only one team can win it all.
