Konpeki no Kantai is based on the anime series Deep Blue Fleet , which is set in an alternate universe. The game follows the story of the anime since the first episode and tells the tale of a fictionalised version of admiral Isoroku Yamamoto, who is transported back in time to 1905 aboard the ship Nisshin shortly after the battle of Tsushima. With his knowledge from the future, he aims to ensure Japan becomes the most powerful country in the world.
The game re-creates battles against the USA during an alternate World War II, featuring turn-based strategy gameplay with a focus on naval combat. As the commander of the Japanese Deep Blue Fleet, players can customise warships, assign soldiers, and create new weapons to deploy in battles.
