Fire & Ice is a top-down tank combat simulator that takes place in two opposing fortresses. The objective is to blast your way through enemy lines and capture their fortress while defending your own. The game features tanks with varying levels of firepower, as well as helicopters that can attack from the air. The sound design also plays a key role, with the iconic "splut" sound effect still remembered by many today.
The gameplay revolves around head-to-head competition against another player, either using a split-screen setup, modem connection, or a null modem cable for local multiplayer. This unique feature set Fire & Ice apart from other tank simulators of its time.
