The Thundercats game is based on the popular children's TV show and sets it as a Ghosts 'N Goblins-style hack-n-slash adventure. The Thundercat must defeat Mumm-Ra's forces, which range from dwarves to bats. Although you start with only a sword, more can be collected by attacking the various containers through the levels - later weapons can destroy these enemies quicker, and allow attacks from a distance. Reaching the end of each level sees bonuses for time and kills.
The gameplay in Thundercats is fast-paced and action-packed. You control the Thundercat as they navigate through different levels, fighting off enemies and collecting new weapons. The game gets progressively harder as you progress, with more powerful enemies and traps appearing later on. You can replay levels to find new paths and secrets, adding to the game's replay value.
