This fantasy action game features two playable characters, the Poor God and Yashahime, who embark on separate quests to rescue oppressed realms from greedy rulers. The Poor God journeys to King Senou's castle to reform the king using his theft-based fighting style, while Yashahime rallies companions to defeat King Mandala and his demons on Ogre Island. Players equip staffs or hair ornaments, master balanced attack and defense techniques, and progress through story-driven missions to restore peace.
Story
Punish the Money Wasters!
Money wasters, like King Senou, sell expensive farm tools to people to rake in cash. Seeing the suffering people, the Poor God finally awakened to a sense of justice. The villagers suffer under King Senou's greedy policies. Only you can save them!
Over there
"Mora rou~! Red money, the things that are kind to one person, because they are right."
The Poor God, who had been stealing people's money for a long time, was admonished by Momotaro. The objective of the "Legend of the Poor God" is to go to King Senou's castle and reform King Senou, who has become a money waster.
The Poor God set out on a journey alone. Can he really save the people?
"Whoever is in the fields, if you sell the things of the king of coins too high, you are in trouble."

"I repented after being told by Mr. Momotaro. I can't forgive King Senou for taking a lot of money from weak people. I punish enemies with my specialty, theft. Bonbee, Bonpy!"

The objective of "The Legend of Yashahime" is to make the King Mandala on land have a change of heart. Join forces with your companions to defeat the demons of Hell Mandala!

Yashahime

Equipment: Weapons are of the Kanzashi (hair ornament) type. Armor is Furisode (wide-sleeved kimono). There is a special window for Yashahime at the Equipment Store.

Techniques: Proficient in techniques related to movement such as Jigokuhen (Hell Transformation), Fuu Unna (Floating), etc. Skilled in using both offensive and defensive techniques.
How to Play
Scenarios
"Momotaro Legend Sequel Vol. 1" contains three scenarios:
•
Poor God Legend
•
Yasha Princess Legend
•
Urishira Legend
You can start from any scenario at your convenience. It is possible to play a different scenario even if you have not cleared the current one.
Game Start
When the scenario selection screen appears, follow these steps:
•
Use the D-pad to select a scenario.
•
Choose which save data to use.
•
If you have not saved to backup memory, select a password.
•
Press the RUN button or the ① button to confirm.
If you choose "First Time," Momotaro will explain the three scenarios to you.
Saving Data
When you hear the voice from the sky, it will provide a password. This code is very long, so be careful not to make mistakes; it is recommended to take notes.
You can save to a backup unit up to two times for each scenario. Saving is handled by the shrine priestess at the village shrine and comes in two types:
•
Backup: Requires a backup unit.
•
Password: Provided by the Voice of Heaven.
Controller Usage
•
① Button: Used to call up windows or decide on commands.
•
② Button: Used to close windows or cancel commands.
•
RUN Button: Starts the game. When pressed during gameplay, it displays a list of stamina and equipment.
•
Directional Pad: Used to move the character in the field and to select commands.
•
SELECT Button: Functions vary by context.
Shop and Location Introduction
Various locations offer specific services:
•
Lodging: Inns recover the health and skills of everyone for a fee, which varies by village.
•
Shrine: Used to record the Voice of Heaven (Save) or listen to it (Password).
•
Doctor: Treats major injuries and poison. For treating two or more people, it is better to request "all."
•
Tea House: A shop to buy and sell items. Prices are consistent everywhere, but stock varies.
•
Weapons Shop: Buy and sell weapons. Selecting "Appraisal" takes back your currently equipped weapon, allowing you to buy a new one with the price difference. Equipment is updated automatically.
•
Jizo: Often knows important information. Depending on the location, it can serve as a substitute for a shrine.
•
Treasure Box: Mostly contains items, but sometimes holds incredible things.
Terrain Guide
Different terrains affect movement and combat:
•
Traversable: Areas like Grassland and Snowfield allow free movement. Enemy appearance frequency is low, but you may get lost without landmarks.
•
Untraversable: Locations like Mountains and Rock Mountains cannot be crossed. You must go around them.
•
Enemies Appear Easily: Forests, Pine Forests, and Bridges have a higher likelihood of enemy encounters. Bridges almost certainly guarantee an encounter.
•
Villages: Contain inns, shops, and shrines. They are places to obtain various information.
•
Taking Damage: Needle Mountain and Hono no Oh (Flame Field) deal damage simply by walking on them. Bring a Floating Gem or similar item to traverse safely.
•
Entrance: Entrances to mountain caves, hokora shrines, etc. Standing on the tile allows you to enter the interior.

How to Check Stats
You can check your stats by selecting "Stats" in the command menu, viewing "Equipment" for equipment stats, or pressing the RUN button to see the stats, equipment, and money of all party members.
Save Hearts to Level Up
In this game, levels are called Ranks and experience points are called Hearts; ranking up increases Attack Power, Defense Power, and Agility while fully restoring Stamina and Skills.
Big Wound / Paralysis / Poison
Big Wounds can be cured by paying a doctor, Paralysis only occurs during battle, and Poison slows you down and drains stamina so it should be treated early; if the protagonist's strength runs out, you are returned to the last save location with your money halved.
How to Master Techniques
Techniques are learned as your rank increases rather than being bestowed by immortals, and you should monitor the remaining skill count as each technique consumes a specific number of points.
Kintan
A recovery technique with a cost of 3 that restores the physical strength of one ally, having the weakest effect among recovery techniques.
Ryori
A technique with a cost of 2 that allows you to make onigiri, which can then be added to your items.
Dokkeshi
A recovery technique with a cost of 2 that cures an ally afflicted with poison, and it can also be used on yourself.
Sazanami
An attack technique with a cost of 3 that uses the power of surging waves to deal damage to all enemies, with variants like Oonami and Tsunami.
Barafubuki
A powerful Asura attack technique with a cost of 24 that puts one enemy to sleep and deals damage.
Shiridashi
A super powerful attack-type technique with a cost of 10 that deals damage to all enemies via belching, though it is difficult to learn.
Fuuin
An attack support technique with a cost of 3 that seals the techniques and special attacks of all enemies, though it sometimes fails.
Funiya
An attack support technique with a cost of 3 that lowers the defense power of all enemies, making it effective to cast before attacking.
Inazuma
An attack support technique with a cost of 2 that deals damage to one enemy and also has some special effects.
Hi-en
A technique with a cost of 8 that allows the entire party to return to any location previously visited, also known as Hell Teleport in the Yakahime Legend.
Fuyuu
A technique with a cost of 3 that makes the bodies of the entire party float in the air, preventing them from being caught in traps like fire.
Items & Weapons
Mochi Bun
Slightly restores the health of the character who uses it.
Onigiri
A more powerful health restoration item than Mochi Bun.
Kibidango
A more powerful health restoration item than Mochi Bun.
Cucumber
A favorite of Kappas that is normally useless but required when fighting certain enemies.
Sennin's Mist
A valuable item that recovers techniques.
Sennin's Peach
An item that recovers more techniques than Sennin's Mist.
Uchide no Kozuchi
An item that recovers more techniques than Sennin's Mist.
Magic Carpet
Used with 'Hien' or 'Jigoku Hien' to return to the last save point.
Winter Ball
Makes all party members float in the air, allowing them to cross hazards like spikes or fire without taking damage.
Book
Can be read to increase the mental power of the character who reads it.
Weapon
Equipment that increases attack power, though some are more effective when used as items.
Clothing
Equipment that increases defense, though some low-defense items may be mandatory to equip.
Sandals
Equipment that increases speed and can often be shared by almost everyone.
Enemies & Characters
Asura
A character who parries weapons gracefully and uses support techniques to aid attacks. Described as having a quick strike that will surely come in handy.
Kurugappa
Uses quick agility and special attacks, though normal attack power is somewhat low. Loves Kyuri (gourds) and utilizes attack-based techniques.
Yukidaruma
Attacks with whimsical, odd equipment and may act wiser than the enemy or become troublesome during battle. Performs no techniques at all.
Fuujin
A very useful character who specializes in recovery techniques while also being strong in melee combat. Wields a Kanabato (cleaver sword).
Raijin
Moves quickly and wields powerful attack-based techniques despite having average attack power. Wields a Kanabato (cleaver sword).
Hadadai
Not strong until midway through the game aside from defense, but can be raised patiently. A master of powerful techniques who uses a sword.
Amenohyakko
Attack methods are divided into three stages: Pine, Bamboo, and Plum, creating unpredictable outcomes. Uses all equipment but performs no techniques.
Urashima Taro
The protagonist of 'Urashima Legend' who sets out to punish the Tanuki Great King. Skilled at recovery-type spells and uses a Mallet.
Kawanura Tanuki
A mischievous Tanuki who is the son of the Tanuki Great King and was entrusted to Urashima after being caught. He is a troublesome companion who rebels and attacks Urashima.
Tanuki Great King
The main antagonist causing mischief and needing punishment by Urashima. Father of the Kawanura Tanuki.
Kintaro
A strong and reliable companion who joins the journey, possessing top-tier stamina and attack power but no magic. Wields an Axe and wears a Hara-kake.
