Puyo Puyo Box is a compilation package featuring the classic arcade puzzle games Puyo Puyo and Puyo Puyo 2 for the Playstation. The game offers a unique blend of puzzle-solving and competitive gameplay, as players must stack and order color-coded blobs to clear them off the screen while also facing off against opponents in vs matches.
The gameplay in Puyo Puyo Box involves stacking and ordering color-coded blobs or "puyos" as they fall into your play area and arranging them in groups of the same color to clear them off the screen before you get flooded with falling pieces. The twist is that you must also select a character and then face-off against a series of opponents, sending "garbage" puyos to your opponent to try and stop their advance.
Puyo Puyo Box comes with both full games and several choices of gameplay modes, including a completely independent "quest" mode. In this mode, you play as series heroine Arle as she explores the world in search of 6 magical seals, equipping items to enhance your stats and roaming the game world in a top-down view.
