Street Fighter 6 is set after the events of Street Fighter III: 3rd Strike and takes place in a world where street fights have become a common pastime. Players can join the story with a custom character seeking to rise through the ranks or play through the traditional arcade mode, following the stories of the game's iconic characters.
The game features three main modes:
World Tour - players explore a hub world, learning new techniques from legendary masters and battling common opponents
Battle Hub - players engage in multiplayer fighting, including clan systems, or play classic Capcom games
Fighting Ground - the classic arcade mode experience, with options for custom rulesets and practice modes
A key feature of Street Fighter 6 is its control sets: Modern, Classic, and Dynamic. Players can switch between these settings at any time, affecting gameplay and damage output. The game also introduces the Drive Gauge, which allows players to execute special moves, parry attacks, or counter incoming hits.
The game offers various options for customization and replayability, including the ability to buy additional characters, gear, and cosmetics from the in-game store or via DLC packages. Players can also earn currency by playing and toggle cross-play between platforms.
