About

Established as a dedicated brand under Idea Factory, Otomate is highly regarded for its extensive library of visual novels and otome games. The developer is best known for creating popular franchises such as Hakuoki, Amnesia, and Code: Realize. Their titles are primarily released on PlayStation platforms and Nintendo Switch.
During the mid-2010s, the developer diversified its portfolio by releasing spin-offs and original intellectual properties. In 2014, the company expanded its signature historical fantasy universe into a contemporary high school setting with Hakuoki SSL: Sweet School Life and its Hakuoki SSL: Sweet School Life [Limited Edition] variant. The same year, the studio launched Amnesia World [Limited Edition], introducing various minigames and parallel world scenarios, alongside the sci-fi romance title Binary Star and the idol-themed Marginal#4 Idol of Supernova [Limited Edition].
The momentum continued into 2015 with the release of Moujutsukai to Ouji-sama: Flower & Snow, a fantasy title centered on animal transformation mechanics. This was followed by the comedic, supernatural-themed KLAP: Kind Love and Punish and the localized western release of the steampunk-inspired fantasy Code: Realize Guardian of Rebirth. These releases solidified the developer's reputation for narrative depth, intricate character designs, and diverse thematic settings ranging from science fiction to gothic fantasy.
