PlatinumGames is a Japanese development studio that collaborated closely with Nintendo on Wii U releases, including the action-adventure game The Wonderful 101 and the sequel Bayonetta 2. They co-developed Star Fox Zero and its companion title Star Fox Guard, which were released individually and in various bundles. The studio also developed the stylized action game Transformers: Devastation.
Founded in 2007 by key members of Capcom's Clover Studio, the developer established a reputation for high-speed, stylish action. For The Wonderful 101 (2013), director Hideki Kamiya utilized the Wii U GamePad to let players draw shapes on the touchscreen, translating them into powerful "Unite Morph" weapons.
