Quinrose was a Japanese developer best known for creating otome visual novels, particularly fantasy and fairy-tale-inspired romance games. They developed the popular Alice in the Country of Hearts franchise, including Heart no Kuni no Alice Anniversary Ver and Omochan no Kuni no Alice, as well as titles like Okashi na Shima no Peter Pan, Grimm the Bounty Hunter, and Arabians Lost.
Active primarily during the PlayStation Portable era, the developer specialized in adapting classic literature into interactive fiction with complex, dark undertones. In 2011, the studio expanded its fairy-tale adaptations with
Mother Goose No Himitsu No Yakata [Deluxe Edition], which integrated traditional nursery rhymes into its romance gameplay. That same year, the company solidified its signature franchise with
Heart no Kuni no Alice Anniversary Ver: Wonderful Wonder World and
Omochan no Kuni no Alice: Wonderful Wonder World, alongside the confectionery-themed
Okashi na Shima no Peter Pan: Sweet Never Land.
By 2012, the studio diversified its thematic portfolio. It released
Oumagatoki: Kaidan Romance, focusing on Japanese folklore and spirits, and
Abunai Koi No Sousashitsu, a contemporary detective romance. The developer also published
Arabians Lost in 2012, a fantasy title featuring high-stakes desert adventure, and
Grimm the Bounty Hunter, which reinterpreted classic folklore with action-oriented romance elements. These releases typically featured intricate branching narratives, extensive voice acting, and stat-building mechanics. The company ceased operations in late 2015, leaving a distinct legacy in the otome genre through these specific literary re-imaginings.
