Roll7 is an independent video game studio that gained prominence with its side-scrolling skateboarding franchise. They developed OlliOlli, its sequel OlliOlli2: Welcome to Olliwood, and the stylized OlliOlli World. Their games are characterized by precise, flow-state physics and electronic soundtracks.
Founded in London in 2008, the studio initially focused on educational software before pivoting to original game development. The critical success of their signature skateboarding series redefined the studio's trajectory. In 2016, the franchise reached physical retail with OlliOlli: Epic Combo Edition, a compilation for the PlayStation 4 that bundled the original title with its sequel, OlliOlli2: Welcome to Olliwood. This second installment expanded the core mechanics by introducing manuals, reverts, and split-path level designs, shifting the aesthetic toward a cinematic, Hollywood-inspired theme.
The culmination of this gameplay evolution arrived with OlliOlli World in 2022. Published by Private Division—who acquired the studio in late 2021—this title departed from the pixel art of its predecessors, adopting a hand-drawn, cel-shaded 3D art style set in the fictional utopia of Radlandia. It introduced deep character customization, narrative quests, and multi-layered, branching levels.
