Inti Creates is best known for its work on the Mega Man Zero and ZX series, as well as its own franchises like Azure Striker Gunvolt and Gal*Gun. The company also collaborates with other developers, creating retro-styled titles such as Bloodstained: Curse of the Moon and Blaster Master Zero.
Founded in May 1996 by a group of former Capcom staff members, including president Takuya Aizu, the Chiba-based studio initially operated primarily as a contract developer. Over the following decades, the company expanded its operations into self-publishing, global localization, and physical distribution.
A key milestone in this expansion was their partnership with Yacht Club Games to localize and publish the Japanese retail edition of
Shovel Knight (2015). This helped cement their role as a bridge between Western and Japanese indie game markets. To support their growing catalog, they released compilation packages such as
Azure Striker Gunvolt: Striker Pack (2017). They also collaborated with boutique distributors to produce physical collector's items, resulting in releases like
Blaster Master Zero [Best Buy] (2017) and
Bloodstained: Curse of the Moon [Classic Edition] (2018). Beyond software, the company licensed branded hardware accessories, including the
White & Red Accents Wirelesss Controller (2018). Through these publishing and merchandising ventures, the studio transitioned from a behind-the-scenes developer into a fully independent international publisher.
