About

The Gundam Breaker series focuses on cooperative action gameplay where players defeat enemy mobile suits to collect parts and customize their own Gunpla. The franchise's early era is defined by Gundam Breaker (2013), Gundam Breaker 2 (2014), and Gundam Breaker 3 (2016), along with its expanded 'Break Edition'. These titles allow players to combine parts from various Gundam timelines to create unique mecha designs.
Developed by Crafts & Meister and published by Bandai Namco, the series debuted with Gundam Breaker (2013) on the PlayStation 3, which later received a PlayStation Vita port. This initial entry was re-released under a budget label as Gundam Breaker [The Best] (2014). The gameplay loop distinguished itself by incorporating real-world model kit scaling, forcing players to battle giant 1/60 scale boss units using their own 1/144 or 1/100 scale creations.
The sequel, Gundam Breaker 2 (2014), launched simultaneously on PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita, expanding the narrative with a dedicated story campaign and introducing a weapon progression system. Gundam Breaker 3 (2016) marked the franchise's transition to the PlayStation 4 alongside its PlayStation Vita release. This third installment introduced SD (Super Deformed) Gundam support characters that provide passive buffs during combat. The definitive version, Gundam Breaker 3: Break Edition (2016), bundled the base game with all subsequent downloadable content, including additional missions and model parts, cementing the trilogy's legacy as a cornerstone of Bandai Namco's mecha gaming lineup.
