About

The Kemco RPG Selection Vol. series consists of physical compilation releases that package multiple digital role-playing games onto a single disc or cartridge. This series includes releases such as Vol. 1, Vol. 6, Vol. 7, Vol. 8, Vol. 10, Vol. 11, and Vol. 12, which bring various retro-style Kemco RPGs to consoles like the PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch. Each volume typically bundles four distinct titles, offering physical collectors access to previously digital-only releases.

Initial releases in the series, such as Kemco RPG Selection Vol. 6 (2017), Kemco RPG Selection Vol. 7 (2017), Kemco RPG Selection Vol. 8 (2017), Kemco RPG Selection Vol. 10 (2017), Kemco RPG Selection Vol. 11 (2017), and Kemco RPG Selection Vol. 12 (2017), primarily targeted the PlayStation 4 market in Japan. These compilations preserved mobile-to-console ports from prominent Kemco partner developers, including Exe Create and Hit-Point.

The franchise expanded its platform reach with Kemco RPG Selection Vol. 1 (2020), which marked the series' debut on the Nintendo Switch. This release introduced Nintendo players to physical editions of popular localized sub-series, such as the Asdivine franchise. The compilation strategy continued to evolve with subsequent platform ports, including a newer edition of Kemco RPG Selection Vol. 10 (2022). By grouping these niche, turn-based JRPGs together, the series serves as an important preservation initiative, ensuring that transient software from the mobile gaming era receives a permanent, collectible legacy on home consoles.
