About

The Pinball Hall of Fame series is a collection of pinball simulators developed by FarSight Studios. It includes Pinball Hall of Fame: The Gottlieb Collection and Pinball Hall of Fame: The Williams Collection, which faithfully recreate historic, real-world arcade pinball tables for various home consoles. These titles paved the way for the developer's later digital pinball projects.
Initial releases under the banner began with early iterations such as Pinball Hall of Fame (2000) and Pinball Hall of Fame (2005), which established the franchise's focus on preserving arcade history. Crave Entertainment published these early titles, aiming to capture the precise physics and mechanical sounds of physical machines.
The franchise gained significant critical acclaim with the release of Pinball Hall of Fame: The Williams Collection (2008) for the Wii, PlayStation 2, and PlayStation Portable, followed by expanded versions of Pinball Hall of Fame: The Williams Collection (2009) for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. These iterations introduced advanced lighting techniques and refined ball physics to emulate classic tables like Black Knight and Space Shuttle. Alongside these, Pinball Hall of Fame: The Gottlieb Collection (2009) offered players interactive museum features, including historical promotional flyers, art galleries, and trivia about the original designers. Players unlocked these bonus materials by earning in-game credits through high scores and completing specific table goals, bridging the gap between digital entertainment and historical preservation.
