About

The Falconeer is an aerial combat game series set in the open-world oceanic environment of The Great Ursee. Players pilot armed giant falcons in dogfights against other factions. The series includes the original 2020 release, its Day One Edition, and the expanded Warrior Edition released in 2021.
Developed almost entirely by solo creator Tomas Sala and published by Wired Productions, this franchise began development as a passion project inspired by classic 3D flight simulators. The initial release of The Falconeer (2020) served as a high-profile launch title for the Xbox Series X/S, alongside versions for Xbox One and PC. To accompany this launch, The Falconeer: Day One Edition (2020) was distributed physically, bundling the base game with a digital game guide and the official soundtrack.
In 2021, the franchise expanded to new platforms with The Falconeer [Warrior Edition] (2021) for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and Nintendo Switch. This definitive version compiled all previously released downloadable content, including The Hunter and Edge of the World expansions, while introducing new player classes, upgraded graphics, and re-recorded voice acting.
The series received critical recognition, earning a nomination for Best Debut Game at the 2021 British Academy Games Awards. Its distinct lore and setting laid the foundation for Sala's subsequent spin-off titles set within the same fictional universe.
