The White Day series is a franchise of Korean survival horror games focusing on stealth, puzzle-solving, and evading ghosts. It includes the 2017 remake White Day: A Labyrinth Named School (later ported in 2022) and its episodic sequel White Day 2: The Flower That Tells Lies, which released as a Complete Edition in 2024.
Originating from a cult-classic 2001 PC release by Sonnori, the franchise gained international recognition with the release of
White Day (2017). This title completely remade the original experience with updated graphics, audio, and gameplay mechanics, introducing new storylines and characters such as Yoo Ji-min. To bring the experience to ninth-generation consoles, the game was ported and re-released as
White Day: A Labyrinth Named School (2022).
The narrative universe expanded significantly with the development of its direct sequel,
White Day 2: The Flower That Tells Lies Complete Edition (2024), also published as
White Day 2: The Flower That Tells Lies [Complete Edition] (2024). This installment structures its narrative across multiple episodes, following different protagonists who return to the haunted Yeondu High School to investigate the tragedies of the previous game. The sequel emphasizes branching storylines, multiple endings, and deeper lore regarding the school's occult history. Throughout these releases, the franchise has maintained its signature tension by stripping players of defensive weapons, forcing reliance on environmental awareness and sound cues to survive.
