Your Player Details
You must complete Your Player Details before choosing a site for your park. Press the D-Button ↑/↓ to flip through the categories.
Your Player Details are:
•
Your Name - Press ✘ and then enter your name exactly as you did the nickname.
•
Your Nickname - This section has already been completed.
•
Park Name - Enter a name for your park as you did your name and nickname. If left blank, your park is known as Bullfrog's World.
•
Sim Level - Choose from Sandbox, Sim, and Full. Use D-Button ↑/↓ to highlight the desired level of play.
•
Sandbox level is for beginners. You can design a park without financial stresses, research, or stock management. You may still need loans and must monitor your bank balance. This level omits many of Theme Park's features.
•
Sim level is intermediary. You'll be involved in Research and Negotiation screens will appear. However, Stock and Stock Market screens are not available.
•
Full level utilizes all of Theme Park's options. You're responsible for Research, purchasing stock for shops, and shares in other parks. You manage all financial transactions, and rival operators can influence your success.
•
Park Visitors - Choose a mood from Happy, Average, and Fussy by pressing the D-Button ↑/↓. Fussier customers are harder to part from their cash. This only affects visitors for the first four years.
•
Start Level - Choose between Easy, Medium, and Hard. This determines your starting money. Easy gives 200,000, Medium gives 150,000, and Hard gives 100,000.
•
Opponents - Options are None, 4, 10, and All. More rivals increase the competitive element and the challenge of being best in all six categories. Rivals might also buy out your park.
•
Opponents Level - Choose between Easy, Medium, and Hard. This decides how aggressive your opponents are. Easy opponents make the game simpler, while Hard opponents provide a real challenge.
•
First Game — No or Yes. Selecting Yes provides a Tutorial from the Park Advisor when you enter the park.
When you've finished entering Your Player Details, D-Button ↓ to the Checkmark icon and then press ✖ for a look at the World Map.
Where in the World?
On the World Map, available sites are marked in yellow. Red dots mark locations you can't afford, while sites occupied by other Theme Park owners are marked in blue. Your bank balance is at the bottom of the screen.
•
D-Button ↑/↓/←/→ to highlight a location with the cursor. The name and cost of establishing a park appear above your bank balance. More desirable locations have greater initial costs.
•
If the territory had a yellow dot, the Site Details screen opens.
•
If the dot was blue, the Park Details screen appears.
•
When you find a site you're happy with, use the D-Button to highlight the Buy Land icon and press ✖. This location appears on the World Map as a golf ball about to be teed off.
•
To leave the World Map for the park itself, D-Button to the Checkmark icon (✔) and press ✖.
•
To return to the Main menu at any time, press ●.
