Tennis , released in 1981 for the Atari 2600, is an action & adventure game that simulates a singles tennis match between one or two players. The computer-controlled opponent follows standard tennis rules, allowing players to hit forehand and backhand shots with varying power to any part of the court.
Gameplay involves using the joystick to control the player's character, hitting the ball in such a way that the opponent can't return it. Players must also manage their energy levels by hitting shots within the available time limit. The game offers two skill levels: a practice mode for those new to tennis and a more demanding full-speed option.
