A Great Day at the Races , released for the CD-i in 1993, is an interactive tutorial aimed at teaching aspiring gamblers how to bet on horse races. The game features lessons on the history of horse racing and a dictionary where players can learn track jargon.
Players take on the role of one of six racers and participate in simulated races, honing their skills and learning advanced handicapping methods. Additionally, they will encounter FMV (full-motion video) races, which simulate real-life racing scenarios. The ultimate goal is to gain experience before attempting to bet in real life.
