HERO , a fantasy-themed role-playing game, challenges players to defeat the evil Wizard Morcar. The player takes control of four characters - a wizard, a dwarf, a barbarian, and an elf - each with unique strengths and weaknesses, who start 14 missions from opposite sides of a board.
Gameplay involves strict turn-based movement rules, where actions other than movement must be carried out before or after the move, determined by a dice roll. The player uses an icon-based system to perform these moves. Characters can fight monsters or cast spells to vanquish them, while also uncovering magic potions and navigating hidden traps. Treasure can be collected and traded at the shop after each level.
