Game Modes
MTV SPORTS™: SNOWBOARDING™ offers five distinct gaming modes.
1) Training
AKA "freeride," the Training Mode gives gamers immediate access to four different mountains. Select one to try and then get ready to hit the slopes!
Use the Training Mode to practice trick combinations, familiarize yourself with the runs, and basically hone your boardin' skills.
2) Qualifying
When you feel comfortable with your boarding skills, move on to the Qualifying Mode. You must accumulate 20,000 experience points to qualify for the MTV Challenge Mode.
Points are awarded when you successfully execute tricks. The game will keep track of your high scores for each mountain, and the highest score on each mountain goes toward your qualifying points.
You can see how many points you have on the Mountain select menu while playing the Qualifying mode. Once you surpass 20,000 points, it's time for the Challenge Mode. Good luck!
3) MTV Challenge
This is where the main competition starts! In the MTV Challenge Mode you compete in a tournament against computer boarders in five separate snowboarding events.
The goal is to win the overall Challenge by accumulating the highest number of total points. First place for each event is 500 points, second place is 400 points, third place is 250 points, fourth place is 100 points, and 50 points for fifth place. No points for sixth place. Come in first overall and you win the Challenge.
