FIFA 99 was the third FIFA title released in less than a year. It includes 42 national teams and 250 club teams from 12 different leagues, allowing players to participate in a complete season, the Super League, or their own custom league. Players can also change formations and tactics, and move players between teams.
The gameplay in FIFA 99 offers multiple viewing angles. The game features more detailed player animations than before, including new moves such as sliding challenges and close-control trapping. Goalkeepers now have a level of human control, adding to the realism of the game.
