The Looney Tunes platformer Daffy Duck in Hollywood was released for Sega Master System. While similar in story and concept to other versions, this version has unique level designs and gameplay differences.
Players control Daffy Duck as he tries to retrieve Yosemite Sam's stolen Golden Cartoon Movie Awards from the nefarious Doctor Duck Brain. Daffy must navigate through six different worlds, each based on a movie genre such as western, horror, adventure, and sci-fi. The player can select levels in any order at the start of the game, which unlocks the next two worlds.
Each level is divided into sections, with the exit to the next section only accessible after defeating a set number of enemies using Daffy's bubble gun. The bubble gun can be upgraded with power-ups, such as faster firing patterns or increased power, and magic wand power-ups that summon a "fairy duck mother" to protect Daffy from losing lives. Collecting points is possible by collecting dollar signs, gold coins, and diamonds. Some levels contain the Golden Cartoon Movie Awards, which can be recovered for extra motivation.
