Donkey Kong Country 2 , released on December 14, 1995, for the Super Nintendo, follows Diddy Kong and his girlfriend Dixie Kong as they attempt to rescue their friend Donkey Kong from the clutches of K. Rool and the Kremlings.
The gameplay in Donkey Kong Country 2 builds upon the platforming mechanics introduced in the first game, with an emphasis on collecting bananas. Every 100 bananas collected earns an extra life, while completing levels and rescuing Donkey Kong are also key objectives. Hidden throughout each level are Hero Coins, which can be collected to earn rewards and unlock new areas.
Additional challenges include completing extra missions, such as collecting K. Rool's Kremkoins to access the Lost World, and navigating through various levels with hidden paths and secrets. The game also features a variety of characters, including Wrinkly Kong, who provides guidance throughout the gameplay.
