Syberia is a traditional puzzle-solving adventure game where Kate Walker, a lawyer, must negotiate the takeover of an old luxury toy and automaton factory. The factory's owner, Anna Voralberg, has decided to sell up due to ill-suited ambitions in the contemporary economic climate.
However, things become complicated as Kate arrives to find Anna being buried, with her brother Hans being revealed as the only person who can ratify the sale of the family business. It turns out that Hans had been believed dead for decades and is now living in Siberia.
Syberia features 3D puzzle-solving gameplay where Kate navigates a 3D model over pre-rendered backgrounds with fixed camera angles. Puzzles are mostly inventory-based, with some involving manipulating the environment, such as mechanical devices. The interface is simple, featuring a single cursor that only highlights interactable objects.
Syberia was released for the Xbox on 6 June 2003 and falls under the genre of Action & Adventure.
