Hugo The Evil Mirror is a platformer game for the Playstation console, released in 2003. In this game, you play as Hugo, a man trapped inside an evil mirror that reflects his darker self. Your goal is to navigate through different levels and break the curse of the mirror to free yourself.

This is a platformer adventure game where players control young trolls to rescue their father. They must navigate a magical forest, collect mirror pieces, and gather items like potions and diamonds to succeed.
Story
Gameplay Description
Scylla the Wicked Witch has used her magical powers to capture Hugo in a mirror. His three children, Trollerit, Trollerat, and Trollerut, must set him free.
Scylla has broken the mirror into three pieces and spread them to the farthest depths of Tricky Troll Forest. To break the spell, each of the young Trolls must recover a piece of the mirror and put it back together again so that Hugo can become a free Troll again.
Collectibles
During the game, you will come across various objects which it might be smart to collect.

The Magic Potion gives you more energy and strength.
•
Gives extra lives.
Remember to collect as many diamonds as possible. If you collect enough, they give extra strength when you have completed a level.
If you lose all your energy, you will start again at the last mirror frame you have collected.
How to Play
Startup Information
1. Set up your PlayStation game console according to the instructions in its Instruction Manual.
2. Make sure the power is off before inserting or removing a compact disc.
3. Insert the Hugo: The Evil Mirror disc and close the Disc Cover.
4. Insert game controllers and turn on the PlayStation game console.
5. Follow on-screen instructions to start a game.
Saving Your Game
You will get the chance to save your game every time you have completed a level if you have a MEMORY CARD. Insert your MEMORY CARD into MEMORY CARD slot 1.
You can also play the game without a MEMORY CARD, but then you will not be able to save the game and retrieve it later.

Select Language
Before you start playing, you must select the language. Do this by selecting your country's flag.
NOTE: Menus will be displayed in the language you select in the Select Language menu.

In the Start Menu, you must choose whether you wish to start a new game or retrieve one you saved previously.

Level of Difficulty
Before starting a new game, you must select the level of difficulty. If it is your first attempt, you should choose Easy. If you are good at playing, try Normal or Hard.
You can always start again from the beginning if you want to try another level of difficulty.

Here, you must select the level you want to play. Use the direction buttons to make your menu selection.
At the bottom of the screen, you can see the name of the character/level you have selected. To the right, you can see how much of the level you have completed previously.
It is only via the 'Go to Main Menu' option that you can return to the Main Menu to load or save your game data.

How to Save a Game
When you have completed a level, you can save the game to your MEMORY CARD, so you can always restart the game from where you left off last time.
Make sure you have a MEMORY CARD in MEMORY CARD slot 1 so you can save and retrieve a game again.
To save, go to the Main Menu and select "Save Game". Use the Directional Buttons and press when you have highlighted the block you wish to save the game to.
Console Description
Install the console following the instructions in its manual. Do not insert or remove MEMORY CARDS (memory cards) or controllers once you have turned on the console.
NOTE: The illustrations in this manual belong to the original English version of the game, and may vary slightly from those in your game.

Game Explanation
Scylla, the evil witch, has used her magical powers to capture Hugo in a mirror. Her three sons, Trollerit, Trollerat and Trollerut must free him.
Scylla has broken the mirror into three pieces and scattered them throughout the Forest of the mischievous Trolls. To break the spell, each of her sons must recover a piece of the mirror and unite all the pieces so that Hugo can be a free troll again.
During the game you will find several objects that you should collect.

How to Control Trollerat

Roman Beavers
The Roman Beavers are big soldiers who have entrenched themselves in an almost impregnable dam at Beaver Fortress. Trollerat must attack them with his snowball cannon.
Emperor
The Emperor is the vain and proud owner of a piece of the Evil Mirror, totally possessed by it, and will not give it up without a fight.
Mobnut gang
The Mobnut gang are gangster squirrels inhabiting the Squirrel Tree, where they make illicit chocolate. Trollerut must fight her way up the tree through them.
Gangster Boss
The Gangster Boss is totally possessed by a piece of the mirror, believing it to be a great work of art which he intends to protect with all his might. Trollerut must defeat him to retrieve the mirror piece.

SAVE GAME
You can save up to four games. If you already have four saved games and want to play further into the current game, you will have to overwrite one of the previous ones.
