DJ Hero 2 is the follow-up on the faux instrument rhythm game DJ Hero. Using either a standard console controller or the turnstyle peripheral designed for the DJ Hero games, the player must match the rhythm of the music by 'scratching' the music and whilst matching the on-screen prompts in order to score as many points as possible.

The game features a new soundtrack including music from Lady Gaga, the Chemical Brothers, Dr. Dre and the Prodigy, as well as improved graphics for sequels. A new game mode called Empire is also introduced, which follows the single-player career of an up-and-coming DJ. Players take control of their character, guiding them through performances and managing a nightclub in cities like London and Berlin.

The multiplayer mode offers a unique feature - a rewind ability that allows players to correct mistakes made during gameplay. This feature is only awarded when a player has reached a certain level of success and is temporary. The game also features standard head-to-head mode, as well as a vocal match mode where one player takes control of the vocals while the other player focuses on matching the music.


