The PS4 game Godzilla is an updated version of the 2014 Japanese PS3 game Godzilla . When it was brought over to The West, the PS3 and PS4 version were released simultaneously, but with different content. This PS4 version has many differences and additional content identical to the Japanese PS4 version Godzilla VS released at the same time.
The gameplay in the PS4 game is improved compared to its predecessor. The addition of an online multiplayer mode allows players to compete against each other, playing as any Kaiju. A new Destruction mode has also been added, where players can control and destroy enemy monsters. Another new mode, Evolution, has undergone changes, allowing players to unlock new monsters by defeating existing ones.
Existing AI-controlled monsters are now playable, along with six new monsters: Anguirus, Battra, Ghidorah, Mecha-King, Rodan, and SpaceGodzilla. The game also features the ability to upgrade monster abilities, which can be used in multiplayer games.
